Are Hair Gems Making a Comeback?

The hair at the Alice and Olivia Fall 2020 Collection at New York Fashion Week was all about embellishments with tiny crystal rhinestones glued to the hair to created a jewelled effect. Celebrity hairstylist Justine Marjan added the hair gems to the relaxed waves to create a 70's bohemian rock chic look.

To create the textured wave Justine used the 's' wave technique with a flat iron. Each hair jewel was individually attached to the hairstyle with hair glue on tweezers for extra support and finished with TRESemmé Micro Mist Spray.

Here are some other recent creations by Justine Marjan using pearls and crystals to inspire you.

This hair trend seems to pop up from time and time, especially for music festivals for fun hairstyle creations by adding in pops of colour in ponytails and braids to complete either a boho, tribal or rave style outfit.

The best part about them is they are super affordable and you can buy them at a craft store or you can purchase from suppliers in pre-designed sticker kits.
